Die Aufgabe besteht darin, internationale Normen für persönliche Schutzkleidung gegen Gefahren wie Hitze, Chemikalien und mechanische Einwirkungen (ausgenommen radioaktive Stoffe) festzulegen. Diese internationalen Normen können Anforderungen an Schutzausrüstung für Kopf, Hände und Füße enthalten, sofern diese integraler Bestandteil der Schutzkleidung ist oder als Einzelteile nicht unter die Zuständigkeit anderer Technischer Komitees (TC) oder Sicherheitskomitees (SC) fällt.

To be responsible for establishing international standards for personal protective clothing against hazardous exposures such as heat, chemicals and mechanical action with the exclusion of radioactive materials. <P>These international standards may include requirements for protective items for the head, the hand and the feet when these are an integral part of the protective clothing or, as individual items, they do not fall within the scope of any other TC or SC.

Verantwoordelijk voor het vaststellen van internationale normen voor persoonlijke beschermende kleding tegen gevaarlijke blootstellingen zoals hitte, chemicaliën en mechanische belasting, met uitzondering van radioactieve stoffen. <P>Deze internationale normen kunnen eisen bevatten voor beschermende kledingstukken voor het hoofd, de handen en de voeten wanneer deze een integraal onderdeel van de beschermende kleding vormen of, als afzonderlijke artikelen, niet binnen het toepassingsgebied van een andere TC of SC vallen.

Élaborer des normes internationales pour les vêtements de protection individuelle contre les expositions dangereuses telles que la chaleur, les produits chimiques et les contraintes mécaniques, à l'exclusion des matières radioactives. Ces normes internationales peuvent inclure des exigences relatives aux équipements de protection de la tête, des mains et des pieds lorsque ceux-ci font partie intégrante des vêtements de protection ou lorsqu'ils sont considérés individuellement et ne relèvent d'aucun autre comité technique ou comité scientifique.
