Scope
Die Normung der festen Biobrennstoffe soll im Rahmen des EU-Mandats folgenden Anwendungsbereich abdecken: - Produkte aus der Land- und Forstwirtschaft;- pflanzliche Abfälle aus der Land- und Forstwirtschaft;- pflanzliche Abfälle aus der lebensmittelverarbeitenden Industrie;- Holzabfälle, mit Ausnahme von Holzabfällen, die infolge einer Behandlung mit Holzschutzmitteln oder infolge einer Beschichtung halogenorganische Verbindungen oder Schwermetalle enthalten können, und zu denen insbesondere solche aus Bau- und Abrißabfällen gehören;- Korkabfälle. Es wird darauf verwiesen, dass Torf nicht in den Anwendungsbereich dieses Mandats und Arbeitsbereichs fällt.
Standardization of terminology, specifications and classes, sampling and sample preparation, test methods, and safety aspects in the field of raw and processed materials originating from arboriculture, agriculture, aquaculture, horticulture and forestry to be used as a source of thermally and non-thermally treated solid biofuels and pyrogenic biocarbon. Excluded: areas covered by CEN/TC 19 ‘Gaseous and liquid fuels, lubricants and related products of petroleum, synthetic and biological origin’, CEN/TC 343 ‘Solid recovered materials, including solid recovered fuels’, CEN/TC 308 ‘Characterization and management of sludge’, CEN/TC 408 ‘Biomethane and other renewable and low carbon methane rich gases.
The standardization work on solid biofuels shall be within the following scope, in line with the EC mandate: - products from agriculture and forestry; - vegetable waste from agriculture and forestry; - vegetable waste from the food processing industry; - wood waste, with the exception of wood waste which may contain halogenated organic compounds or heavy metals as a result of treatment with wood preservatives or coating and which includes in particular such wood originating from construction and demolition waste; - cork waste. It is noted that peat is not included within the scope of the mandate and work programme.
