Adhesives for paper and board, packaging and disposable sanitary products - Determination of shear resistance (+AC:2007)
This standard describes a test method in which a constant force is applied in the shear mode to an adhesive bond. The time for bond failure to occur at constant temperature is recorded or, alternatively, with increasing temperature, the temperature at which failure occurs. Should the substrate fail under the applied force, the test must be repeated using a lower force. No account is taken of the mechanical properties of the adhesive or adherend that may affect the validity or usefulness of the test.
