1.1 Toepassingsgebied van prEN 1993-1-4 Dit document bevat aanvullende regels voor het constructief ontwerp van staalconstructies die de toepassing van EN 1993-1-1, EN 1993-1-3, EN 1993-1-5 en EN 1993-1-8 op austenitisch, duplex (austenitisch-ferritisch) en ferritisch roestvast staal uitbreiden en wijzigen. OPMERKING 1 Austenitisch-ferritisch roestvast staal staat algemeen bekend als duplex roestvast staal. De term duplex roestvast staal wordt in dit document gebruikt. OPMERKING 2 Informatie over de duurzaamheid van roestvast staal is te vinden in Bijlage A. OPMERKING 3 De uitvoering van roestvaststalen constructies wordt behandeld in EN 1090-2 en EN 1090-4. 1.2 Veronderstellingen Tenzij specifiek vermeld, zijn EN 1990, EN 1991 (alle delen), EN 1993-1-1, EN 1993-1-3, EN 1993-1-5 en EN 1993-1-8 van toepassing.
